Bizarre Bioethics: Ghosts, Monsters, and Pilgrims in Medical Humanities
Bioethics is the study of the ethical issues that arise in medicine and healthcare. It is a relatively new field, with most of the major developments taking place in the past 50 years. However, the ethical issues that bioethics addresses are not new. They have been around as long as humans have been practicing medicine.
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the role of the humanities in bioethics. This is due in part to the recognition that the ethical issues that arise in medicine are not simply technical problems that can be solved by applying a set of rules. They are also human problems that require an understanding of the human condition.

The humanities can provide this understanding. They can help us to see the ethical issues that arise in medicine from a different perspective. They can help us to understand the values that are at stake and the human experiences that are involved.
This book, Bizarre Bioethics: Ghosts, Monsters, and Pilgrims in Medical Humanities, explores the role of the humanities in bioethics through a series of essays that examine ethical issues in medicine from a variety of perspectives. The essays in this book are written by scholars from a variety of disciplines, including medicine, philosophy, literature, and history.
The essays in this book are divided into three sections. The first section, "Ghosts," explores the ethical issues that arise when we interact with the dead. The second section, "Monsters," explores the ethical issues that arise when we encounter people who are different from us. The third section, "Pilgrims," explores the ethical issues that arise when we seek to find meaning in our lives.
The essays in this book are thought-provoking and insightful. They offer a fresh perspective on the ethical issues that arise in medicine. They will be of interest to anyone who is interested in bioethics, medical humanities, or the human condition.
